NB: This is an original Maytag cartridge manufactured for Maytag, Amana and Jenn-Air refrigerators - it will also fit one of the Whirlpool models (details below).

Since Maytag's aquisition of Amana, this new cartridge is designed for refrigerators that have a water filter that pulls down from the top of the fridge (in a small compartment).

It is designed to replace the following cartridges:

WF50 and WF51
UKF8001AXX, UKF8001, UKF80001AXX
All Maytag Zig Zag refrigerators (Maytag Pentapure)
WF50-NI300

The Puriclean II cartridge is certified to remove chlorine, lead, atrazine, lindane, benzene, and mercury. This carbon based cartridge will significantly improve the taste of mains water.

The cartridge is easy to install with a simple 'push-and-twist' mechanism.

This Amana cartridge is designed to be replaced every twelve months (or 2000 litres of water) or when the 'replace cartridge' light comes on (if fitted). If the fridge is switched off or remains unused for any period of time greater than two weeks (e.g. moving house), the manufacturer recommends changing the cartridge.

This also fits some John Lewis fridges with 'tube like' cartridges that fit inside the fridge compartment itself, and refrigerators manufactured by Caple.
