The SmartWater GXRTQ is an external in-line cartridge that is used on many older GE refrigerators as well as being a common generic replacement for other manufacturer's fridges (we have heard of these being fitted to Bosch, Siemens, Neff and in some cases even Samsung).
Connection
Unfortunately our GS10J, whilst being an ideal replacement in terms of specification, has a different connection method to the GXRTQ - and there are two methods of fitting our cartridge depending on your type of installation.
If you have plastic pipe (as do the vast majortiy of users) installation is simple. All you need to do is isolate the water supply to the fridge, cut each existing connector off the tubing with a sharp knife, and then our cartridge will simply fit onto the bare ends of tubing that remain. This procedure takes less than five minutes to complete and changing our cartridge every six months becomes a very simple procedure thereafter.
If you have copper pipe (very few users do) installation is a little more complicated, although still relatively simple - but please contact us for details.
